Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is an advanced treatment for stubborn soft tissue injuries like tendinopathies and calcific deposits. Using high-energy acoustic waves, it stimulates blood flow, breaks down adhesions, and jump-starts healing in tissues that have stalled. It’s commonly used for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and shoulder calcification, offering a non-invasive option when other methods fall short.

Exercise Rehabilitation

Exercise rehabilitation is central to our approach at SLC Physiotherapy. It’s about more than just recovery — it’s about rebuilding strength, mobility, and confidence. Every client receives a personalised programme based on their condition, goals, and environment, whether at home or in a gym. Our methods, rooted in strength and conditioning principles, aim to reduce injury risk, enhance resilience, and support lasting functional change.

Advanced Medical Acupuncture

We offer evidence-based Western Medical Acupuncture, also known as Dry Needling, using fine needles to target muscular trigger points and tension. This technique helps reduce pain, improve blood flow, and support healing. Where appropriate, Electro-Acupuncture may be used to enhance the effect with gentle electrical stimulation. All treatments are provided with full consent and clinical reasoning, supporting both acute and chronic pain.

Osteopathic Articulation

Osteopathic articulation uses gentle, rhythmical movements to improve joint range and reduce stiffness. This passive technique mobilises restricted joints, stretches muscles, and supports joint health by improving circulation. It’s particularly effective for joint discomfort and is always performed gently, progressing at your pace.

Advanced Spinal & Peripheral Manipulation

Manipulation is a controlled, hands-on technique to reduce pain and improve mobility in the spine and peripheral joints. It provides temporary symptom relief, creating a window for effective rehabilitation and retraining. At SLC, manipulation is used only when appropriate, safe, and always with your full consent as part of a broader treatment plan.

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM)

IASTM uses precision tools to treat soft tissue dysfunction, targeting deeper restrictions and promoting healing more effectively than hands alone. It’s especially useful for chronic tension, scar tissue, or muscular adhesions, and is always applied with care to support, not stress, the tissue.

Massage Therapy

Our massage therapy combines therapeutic and sports-based techniques to reduce muscular tension, support recovery, and manage pain. Each session is tailored to your needs, from deep tissue work to restorative massage for circulation and relaxation. The focus is on providing the right touch for the best response.

Strength & Conditioning Coaching

Strength and conditioning at SLC is about intelligent, individualised performance development. We use coaching techniques to build strength, improve mobility, and correct imbalances, whether you’re returning to sport or aiming to function better day-to-day. Our coaching bridges the gap between rehabilitation and peak performance.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy uses suction to create negative pressure on the skin and muscles, promoting circulation, easing myofascial tension, and encouraging relaxation. We use both static and dynamic cupping to complement your treatment plan, especially for muscular tightness, chronic pain, or recovery after physical exertion.

I always recommend 7 days and this gives the relevant time for your body to get the full benefits of the treatment.
