About
Stewart is the founder and lead physiotherapist at SLC Physiotherapy, operating clinics in Livingston and Airdrie since 2019. With a background rooted in clinical precision, client-focused care, and high-performance rehabilitation, Stewart brings extensive experience working with a wide range of clients, from children to older adults and from office workers to elite athletes.
He has treated individuals aged 8 to 80 and is skilled in managing both common and complex pain and injury presentations. Stewart’s experience includes several years as First Team Physiotherapist at Raith Rovers Football Club (2020–2022), where he was responsible for diagnosing and managing acute injuries and planning return-to-play rehabilitation for professional footballers competing at the highest level.
Beyond football, Stewart has supported athletes in sports such as professional boxing, martial arts, cricket, and Olympic-style weightlifting, delivering elite-level rehabilitation and performance conditioning tailored to each sport’s unique demands.
What sets Stewart apart is his holistic approach. He considers the entire kinetic chain, lifestyle factors, and the individual behind the injury. Every client receives a personalised treatment plan that combines manual therapy, movement correction, and rehabilitation — aiming not just to resolve current issues, but to build long-term resilience and performance.
Stewart holds a BSc in Physiotherapy from Queen Margaret University and is fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). His post-graduate qualifications include:
- Diploma in Sports Massage
- Advanced Spinal & Peripheral Manipulations
- Advanced Medical Acupuncture (including Electro-Acupuncture)
- Sports First Aid Certification
With additional qualifications in personal training and sports science, Stewart offers a unique blend of therapeutic and performance expertise.
Outside the clinic, Stewart enjoys football, hillwalking, and spending time outdoors with his family and cocker spaniel, Cooper.
